The 5th Music for the Brain concert took place on Friday 7 February 2025 in Bordeaux, at the Opéra National de Bordeaux. This new edition was dedicated to supporting the Vascular Brain Health Institute.

A pioneer in the fight against stroke and dementia, the most common neurological diseases, the VBHI university hospital institute in Bordeaux brings together the best research and care expertise from different specialities (neurosciences, public health, cardiology) around translational approaches: from patients to public health policies. These approaches rely on top-of-the-range technologies and infrastructures (omics, AI, imaging, etc.) to invent innovative models for the prevention of cerebrovascular disease and disseminate them to as many people as possible. Organised by the VBHI Institute with the support of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, this latest philanthropic event helped to fund cutting-edge research activities within the Institute. Jean-Claude Casadesus, a legendary conductor who has brought the figure of the musician very far into society, was celebrating his 90th birthday. Nicolas Dautricourt joined him with Edward Elgar’s Violin Concerto, which he had just recorded on the precious Stradivarius (1713) on loan from collector Bernard Magrez. As a prelude to the concert, a number of eminent personalities has talked about their interest in the VBHI.
